Brian Tracey’s Recommendation

Brian Tracey - Self Improvement Author and Motivational Speaker

Brian Tracey

Brian Tracey – one of the most highly regarded self-help author’s and motivational speakers made this statement recently.

Invest three percent of your annual income in yourself (self-improvement) in order to guarantee your future

How much of your income do you invest in improving yourself?

Three percent – every year is what Brian Tracey states.

Do you spend anything at all on personal development (shoes, clothes and alcohol are not personal development products! :) )

If you feel that you don’t need any ‘personal development’,  ask yourself whether you are where you expected to be at this time in your life – has everything turned out as you thought it would and nothing could be better that where you are now.

If you answer Yes – that is fantastic and you have no need to read any further!

If things haven’t gone quite as you expected and you are looking for somethings to change in your life maybe it’s time to invest three percent of your income and do something about it.

Almost two years ago, I invested much less than three percent of my salary at the time in Lifepath Unlimited’s 56 Day Discovery Program.   To say that I got value for my investment is massive understatement.

The price I paid for that program is a pittance – when I look back at who I was being then – to who I have become today.

Now don’t get me wrong – I am nowhere near ‘perfect’ in any way shape or form, however, I have taken responsibility for my life and how I choose to live it – and I LOVE ME!!

LifePath Unlimited’s 56 Day Discovery Program changed my life in so many ways.

I was not ‘living’ my life – I was existing.  I had to drag myself from my bed every morning – hated my JOB, hated my husband, criticised and found fault with everything and everyone I came in contact with  and consequently lots of bad things kept happening to me.

It was only when I had a miraculous escape from a car accident followed soon after with a cancer diagnosis – that I finally realised I needed to do something positive for myself – or I was going to die sooner, rather than later!

I had heard of the Law of Attraction and had watched The Secret – even had the DVD that Ray and I had watched a number of times, hoping for something to ‘click’ and things might get better.

It is so simple really, but until you absolutely realise that

THE BUCK STOPS WITH YOU – NO ONE ELSE – IT’S UP TO YOU.

Nothing changes unless YOU do….

I am not going to tell you it will be easy – the Discovery Program challenged me in so many ways and I was ready to quit on it and take the easy way and just pretend that it wasn’t working for me.

Fortunately, I also plugged into the LifePath Unlimited Community and as a result I was and still am, surrounded by positive people who love each other unconditionally and share their love and support constantly.

Fast forward to today and I really am living the life I’ve always dreamed of.  We are ten months into our Globetrotting adventures in South America.  My relationship with my husband of almost 28 years is wonderful, we are travelling to beautiful places and meeting some amazing and wonderful people along the way.

I am fit, healthy and happy and I’m living my life – It feels fantastic.

LifePath Unlimited’s 56 Day Discovery Program is so much more than a personal development training program – it is a small initial investment – in a continuous self improvement system – and the online component enables two people access to the daily lessons andyou can complete the 56 Day program as many times as you desire.

Only you know where you are in your life right now – I am not here to motivate you to change, only you can do that – are you ready to take responsibility for your life? It’s your choice.  I am changed in so many ways and I really do shudder when I think about where I might be now if I hadn’t found LifePath Unlimited’s 56 Day Discovery Program.

Living Your Passion – The Story of Selaron’s Staircase – Escadaria Selaron

Walking down a cobbled street in Rio’s Santa Teresa surrounded by cement coloured buildings with boarded up doors and lots of graffiti, we had no idea of the surprise in store for us when we arrived at Rua Manuel Carneiro in Rio De Janeiro.

We arrived at the top of a staircase that leads down to the grungy neighbourhood of Lapa – a place known for regular drug busts and ‘sleazy’ night time activities.

From where we are standing it looks like many other streets in the hilly parts of Rio De Janerio – run down tenement buildings, rag tag kids lounging or kicking a tattered ball at a wall and the occasional curtain pulled back by a curious local checking on who is visiting their street.

As we descend the stairs it becomes clear that we are in a very special place.

Jorg Selaron, an expat Chilean, after travelling to 50 countries settled in a low ceilinged studio at number 24 Rua Manuel Carneiro in 1983. For the next seven years Selaron practiced his craft, and endeavoured to make a living selling his artwork from his studio.

In 1990, Selaron decided that he was not selling his artwork because buyers were afraid to make the journey through the neighbourhood to visit his gallery, so he set about to brighten the place up.  He demonstrated his love of his adopted country by using only blue, green and yellow tiles scavenged from rubbish piles and building sites and so began the transformation of Rua Manuel Carneiro.

After a few years apparently he still wasn’t making enough sales and determined it was because of the colour of the tiles.

Selaron decided that he needed to add red tiles to his stairs.

Just to let you know, every picture Selaron paints – some 35,000 so far – are in red and black and most include a depiction of a very pregnant moustached Selaron himself!

We were told that he worked with tile manufacturers to create red tiles exactly the tone he wanted – and they continue to make the red tiles specifically for Selaron’s stairs.

Looking up Selaron's Staircase

The result of his work so far is nothing short of incredible! Beautiful, interesting and uplifting with a touch of silliness littered throughout, the stairs are a wonderful piece of ever evolving artwork!

Newly added Simpson's tiles!

Newly added Simpson's tiles!

Adding and amending constantly, Selaron has stated that “This crazy and unique dream will only end on the day of my death”

Selaron is totally committed to his project and we were told that he often works well into the night to finish a section, or make changes as he sees fit.

People are invited to send tiles to Selaron and so far tiles from 60 countries are included throughout the stairs.

A little piece of Australia!

A little piece of Australia!

At the time we visited the man himself was having his daily siesta so we were not fortunate enough to meet him – although from what his assistant told us, Senor Selaron was ‘not in a good spirit’ that day, so we should not be ‘so disappointed’ to miss him.

Selaron’s stairs – Escadaria Selaron are a great example of someone living their passion and even though we didn’t get to meet him, the love he has for the stairs and for Brazil is glaringly obvious and very touching.  Selaron’s passion for art and his unwavering commitment to achieve success drove him to start this amazing project – which has become his obsession and a delight for everyone who ventures into the neighbourhood.

We too are following our passion of travelling and meeting interesting and unique people and going off the regular tourist trails along the way.  We’d love you to stay connected with us and share our adventures in South America and beyond – enter your details to recieve regular updates and feel free to add a comment below and share this with your friends.  :)

Staying Positive is Our Choice!

LifePath Unlimited Globetrotters are on the road again….

LifePath Unlimited Globetrotters are on the road again

LPU Globetrotters are on the road again!

After a fantastic few months we were feeling like locals in the Pipa community but it was time to start packing and organising ourselves to set off on our next adventures.   We absolutely loved our time in Pipa – we’ve made so many great friends and had some wonderful experiences!  Lifepath Unlimited

We decided to head south along the coast and take in a few of the many beautiful beaches Brazil has to offer.   First stop – the seaside village of Olinda then on to Salvador to soak up some African vibe – samba, and street music and experience the Lavagem de Bonfim!

Olinda is an interesting place – full of beautiful but crumbling buildings, parks and happy people enjoying their quiet lives – lots of fishermen and funeral parlours! Lifepath Unlimited

Then it was on to Salvador and a very interesting, confronting and sometimes scary experience.

We’d booked an apartment through a great accommodation site  – airbnb.com – and it happened that the owner is an ex-pat Australian guy, called Dave.  Lifepath Unlimited

Dave offered to pick us up from the airport and deliver us directly to the apartment which was awesome…however, he spent almost the entire journey into the city telling us about some bad stuff that had happened to people who’d stayed in his apartment over the past few weeks…

To say Dave’s horror stories freaked us out a bit is an understatement!

LifePath Unlimited’s Discovery series taught me so much about the importance of staying in my power and it also made me realise that it is entirely up to me to control my thoughts.

As a result I always make a point of having only positive expectations about everywhere we go – and I believe that it is because of this we have had so many wonderful experiences so far and we never even consider the negative side of a place.

So of course  we decided to do as we always do – let go of the negative information and explore the neighbourhood – albeit carefully.

When we started walking around the centre of Pelourhino we could actually feel peoples’ eyes on us and I have to admit we got nervous….we were still determined to get back into our positive mindset …so we headed back to the apartment – while it was still daylight – and then walked to one of the local bars for a beer and to collect ourselves and discuss our thoughts.

This was a great thing to do as even though we were surrounded by people whose Portuguese was unintelligible to us, the atmosphere was relaxed and friendly.

We loved the atmosphere and the after a while some people at the table adjacent to us started to talk to us and tell us about the great places to go and things to do – they even offered us a place to stay if we needed one!!!  How lovely – and what a great lesson we learnt – we took our power back and set our intention to be positive and have a great time.

Our time in Salvador was enjoyable, though we paid a lot more attention to what we took with us on our explorations and which streets we walked along than we have ever done anywhere before.   There were lots of musicians and street performers – Salvador has a fabulous dance and music scene.

There are so many over decorated churches and beautiful old buildings – the tourist areas containing all the interesting sites are patrolled by heavily armed police men and women to assist people to feel safe, but there are many places that are definitely off limits to visitors.

It is really quite sad that the city is apparently so dangerous – those that have nothing want more and many have taken the option to get involved in drugs, and as a result have become quite desperate.

The local Salvadorians we met were equally concerned about their security and explained that they were always careful and didn’t walk outside at night time.  But, everyone we spoke to was happy and positive and so incredibly friendly and welcoming to us.

I am so grateful for everything I’ve learnt from LifePath Unlimited’s 56 Day Discovery Program – realising the power of choosing to think positively and letting go of all negative energy is such an incredible tool to have in your ‘arsenal’.

I am also incredibly grateful to be living my dream life – and I realise that visiting beautiful places is wonderful and uplifting, however, the people we meet along the way create the best memories.

Are you ready to change the way you think – make the choice to think positive thoughts?  LifePath Unlimited’s 56 Day Discovery Program will teach you everything you need to live a more positive and abundant life.  Connect with me to find out more – simply enter your details in the space provided and I will send you information to get you started on your Lifepath Unlimited journey of Discovery!
